About Therapy

There are a number of different approaches to counselling; I work within the Person-Centred approach.  Further information on this approach is available through the links page.

My aim is to offer you a secure place to be truly heard – I am here to accompany you, not to offer advice or judgement.  I believe that each of us has a motivating force towards our personal fulfilment, which may lead to personal growth and harmony. At times we may feel ‘stuck’ or ‘trapped’ by events or emotions, and may benefit from a congruent, compassionate and accepting relationship.  This relationship allows you the time to explore your issues as you choose.

The therapeutic process can be beneficial for clients experiencing issues with, though not limited to, the following:

·  Abuse (physical, psychological and sexual)

·  Alcohol and substance dependency

·  Anger

·  Bereavement

·  Couple Counselling

·  Depression

·  Desire for growth and development

·  Eating disorders

·  Low self esteem and confidence

·  Panic attacks

·  Post-traumatic stress

·  Self harm

·  Spirituality

·  Suicidal thoughts

Also Available

·  Counselling for couples

·  Counselling for children

·  Family counselling

·  Employee counselling for businesses

·  Experiential focusing - a gentle, client-led way of experiencing your bodily sense.  Further details can be

   found at www.focusing.org

Many clients choose to work at a spiritual dimension - this is always the client's choice - I am happy to work with or without this dimension.

My office is based in a large country house surrounded by landscaped gardens.  Many clients find it beneficial to experience counselling outside, to connect with the environment.  I am happy to work this way (weather permitting!) – See photo gallery.
